Friends, Big Chiefs, Spyboys, and Grand Zombies, Les Fous du Carnaval invite one and all to “Fou Whatcha Wanna” with us! We ALL asked for YOU!
On Friday, January 31, 2025, at 8pm, we’ll cissy strut our stuff, do the hambone, and cure all y’alls ills! We’re coming out the swamp like a crazy fool (or maybe the Rougarou or even feu-follet) onto the streets and we wanna see you move ya ass on such a night! We can melt your heart like butter a-a-a-and we can make you stutter. Bring your marraine, your parrain, and Papa Diablo as we walk on guilded splinters and night trip through the Marigny and French Quarter.
Look-ka py py, if we had, if we had, if we had a million dollars, just one million, we would guile & delight parade-goers with costumes that will make even Queen Julia Jackson jealous! We’ve got some hand-crafted gris-gris for the crowds and maybe even some Controllin’ Hearts Get-Together Drops lined up for our annual crawl. We promise to lay off the brain salad surgery as we danse to the brass bands, New Groove and Kings of Brass. Madi cu defio, en dans dey!
Don’t you feel our leg because if you feel our leg, we’ll start at 8pm at the corner of Frenchmen & Decatur Streets, then groove through the Marigny / Quarter following this route:
Frenchmen --> Royal
Royal --> St. Philip
St. Philip --> Decatur
Decatur --> Jackson Square
Eh la bas, Les Fous du Carnaval is a creative collaborative of inner krewes: Krewe of Goddesses, Flora & Fauna, Krewe of Hellarious Wingnuts, and The Legendary Order of the Casket Girls. Handa Wanda, it’s our 4th year parading on this same route and our Junco Partners have expanded to include new inner krewes, Shimmy Shakti Belly Dance Goddesses, The Mystical Krewe of Aziza, and Bywater Crazy Cat Ladies & Gents.
Tipitina, Tipitina, your steak ain’t no hipper than our pork chops, your Cadillac ain’t no hipper than our bus stop! As always, the only way to find out is to come out! Leave all racism, misogyny, transphobia, or bigotry of any kind at home. And stay as safe from bird flu! as you can while out on the route~~remember Mardi Gras is for masking! The parade will line up at 6pm on June 8th, following Pridefest in the Marigny. It will loop through the French Quarter passing by Community Fest and end on Bourbon St between St Ann and Dumaine.

NEW ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER GAY EASTER PARADE

The Gay Easter Parade started in 2000 in New Orleans as a fun way to showcase the fashion and creativity of the entire LGBT community “with ladies in gowns or summer suits with Easter Hats and gentlemen in summer suits or tuxedos.” It’s meant to be a fun cultural event the whole family can attend regardless of whether or not you identify as LGBT.

Friends, Courtesans, Groundlings, and Loose Associates, Les Fous du Carnaval cordially invite one and all to clown around with us at our next commedia dell’arte! On Friday, January 19, 2024, at 8pm, we could be your fantasy! The streets are our stage and we present a veritable visual and auditory feast of mystery, artistry, and ribald fun with our dazzling display of “Big Clown Energy” as our jocular walking parade trips through the Marigny and French Quarter.
Our only tricks are to guile & delight parade-goers with an array of droll costumes, hand-crafted tokens of mirth, and myriad tableaux of wonderment and chicanery in our annual jest as we scamp, prance, and gadabout to the brass bands, New Groove and Kings of Brass. We got that REAL big energy!
Exercising our jester’s privilege, we’ll make the gathered throngs sing like a melody. Our Carnival stroll of misrule starts at 8pm at the corner of Frenchman & Decatur Streets, then we'll frolic through the Marigny / Quarter following this route:

Royal --> St. Philip
St. Philip --> Decatur
Decatur --> Jackson Square
The fantastical Les Fous du Carnaval is a creative collaborative of inner krewes: Krewe of Goddesses, Flora & Fauna, and Krewe of Hellarious Wingnuts. If you ain’t right, we got the remedy! In our third year parading on this same route, our merry band of bards has expanded to include a new inner krewe, The Legendary Order of the Casket Girls.
