Krewe Bohème is back for its second year to saunter through the streets of New Orleans.
In keeping with its free-spirited nature, Krewe Bohème does not have a traditional king or queen, but instead is presided over by an intoxicating Supreme Fairy, emblematic of its green fairy motif.
Krewe Bohème is honored and ecstatic to announce that the 2020 Supreme Green Fairy is the Grammy-nominated, effervescent, and whimsical 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚 “𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐤” 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐎𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬’ 𝐨𝐰𝐧 Tank and the Bangas
Tank’s eclectic talent and avant-garde style perfectly encapsulates Krewe Bohème’s aesthetic and mission to celebrate the Bohemians among us whose “artistic… interests disregard conventional standards of behavior.” Her reign will undoubtedly dazzle all of the senses and transfix all who desire to wander in wonder with Krewe Bohème.
On February 7th, prepare to be dazzled by striking costumes, imaginative floats, and myriad scenes of wonderment from Krewe Bohème’s inner krewes: Krewe of Goddesses, The Merry Antoinettes, Krewe of RUMSLUTS (Really Unsophisticated Men and Sexy Ladies Up to Something), The Krewe of Hellarious Wingnuts, Les Rebelles, Flora and Fauna, Skinz N Bonez, Krewe of Dystopian Paradise, Interrobang ‽ Parading Krewe, The Bayou Babes of New Orleans, Krewe D’Ensite, Krewe of Full Bush, Krewe de la Renaissance – New Orleans Mardi Gras, and many more!
And, in true bohemian spirit, Krewe Bohème’s throws will be hand-made by each inner krewe. Each handmade throw reflects the uniqueness and creativity of each individual krewe and of the diverse Krewe Bohème membership.
Krewe Bohème looks forward to seeing you out on the route as they prepare to guide you into the dreamlike world of 2020!

Krewe Bohème: A New Carnival Parade
Krewe Bohème is pleased to announce our arrival on the Carnival scene! On Friday, February 15, 2019, at 7pm, we will bring to paradegoers a visual and auditory feast of mystery, artistry and fun as we debut with a marching parade through the Marigny and French Quarter. Prepare to be dazzled by striking costumes, imaginative floats and myriad scenes of wonderment as we kick off the two week period of intense revelry that is the lead-up to Mardi Gras Day!
The fantastical new Krewe Bohème is established by Krewe of Goddesses, the Merry Antoinettes, and Krewe of R.U.M. (Really Unsophisticated Men.) We are an unconventional krewe – a collective comprised of some of New Orleans’ most artistic, creative and daring citizens. We take our inspiration from iconoclasts throughout history – unorthodox free spirits with artistic and literary interests who disregard or flout conventional standards of behavior, now commonly known as bohemians or la bohème.
Krewe Bohème is founded as a creative collaboration to express the unique spirits of our krewes. Each inner krewe will have input and a safe space to shape our future. We welcome all humans, creatures and extraordinary beings. Our membership is open to anyone with an accepting and open mind and a love of the spectacle that is Mardi Gras in New Orleans!
In keeping with our unconventional nature, we will not have a typical king or queen; instead, we will be presided over by an enchantingly intoxicating eminence, sure to delight – stay tuned! And, in true bohemian spirit, Krewe Bohème’s throws will be hand-made by each inner krewe. Each handmade throw reflects the uniqueness and creativity of the diverse Krewe Bohème membership.
The Krewe of Goddesses, Merry Antoinettes, and Krewe of R.U.M. will be joined by the additional inner krewes of Krewe of King James: The Super Bad Sex Machine Strollers, The Krewe of Hellarious Wingnuts, Krewe of S.L.U.T.S. (Sexy Ladies Up to Something).
Krewe Bohème is accepting applications at kreweboheme.com for any krewe inspired to join us and our eclectic membership. New inner krewes, the time and location of the Krewe Bohème Mardi Gras Ball and any other announcements will follow as details are confirmed.
